About Us

At
Tony Scotti’s Vehicle Dynamics Institute (VDI), our reputation has
been built on the very same principle that has made the Scotti name
one of the most recognized in the security profession for more than
thirty five years; we focus on doing just one thing – advanced driver
training – and doing it very well.
Our
goal is to provide each and every one of our students with the knowledge,
skill and ability they will need to survive potentially life threatening
encounters while behind the wheel, from motor vehicle accidents
to deliberate attacks. In order to ensure that we meet that goal
we rely on:
- Instructors
with real world experience in transporting and protecting corporate
executives and other high profile individuals around the globe
- Tactics
and techniques that have been proven to work where they’re needed
the most – in the real world
- Scenario-based
practical exercises that closely replicate the challenges our
students are most likely to face out on the street
- Advanced
technology for evaluating and improving student performance

After more than three decades of providing technical support to
vehicle and equipment manufacturers, security providers, government
agencies and military organizations, Tony Scotti Associates continues
to provide a select clientele around the globe with a variety of
consulting services, including:
- vehicle
performance and capability analysis
- enhancing
ballistic and safety protection
- security
and safety product testing
- training
site design and configuration
It
is through Tony Scotti Associates that Mr. Scotti personally oversees
the VDI Instructor Development Program, a comprehensive, ongoing
process that serves to distinguish VDI’s instructors from all others.
While every Scotti certified instructor has the basic skills required
to instruct others in advanced driving techniques, this comprehensive
instructor development program ensures that each and every VDI instructor
brings to the classroom and track an in-depth understanding of:
- vehicle
dynamics, the laws of physics and how they apply to driver training
- scenario-based
exercise design incorporating lessons learned from real world
events
- collection
and analysis of driver and vehicle performance data utilizing
the latest technology
